Top 10 Fictional Hookah Smokers

Hookahs don't often show their faces in films or other media, but when they do we always try to see if we can recognize the hookah being used (and make sure they aren't using quick-lights)! In this blog we decided to assemble and rank some of our favorite hookah appearances in fictional media. Without further ado here's our top 10 list of fictional hookah smokers!

10. Twins (The Matrix)

Kicking off the list we have The Twins from The Matrix Reloaded. These two nameless henchman of the Merovingian can be seen enjoying a hookah session before breaking out into full-on Kung-Fu fighting while wearing designer suits. 

9. Q's Assistant (The Spy Who Loved Me)

Who doesn't love Q's segments in James Bond Movies? You know you're in for a treat when Q shows 007 all the new gadgets he has developed. In The Spy Who Loved Me, Q shows off his seemingly normal hookah. The catch? It's a machine gun in disguise.

8. Smoking Dogs (Scary Movie 3)

"The dogs are acting strange". In our favorite spoof of Signs, Scary Movie 3 delivers the laughs with a bizarre scene of dogs mowing the lawn, re-enacting scenes from Ben-Hur, and...smoking hookah. 

7. Inara (Firefly)

In the great, but short-lived, TV Show Firefly, Inara Serra has her hookah displayed prominently throughout the episodes. Being on a spaceship shouldn't stop anyone from enjoying hookah!

6. Popeye

Yes you are reading that correctly. Popeye is smoking spinach. New Fumari flavor for 2016? One can always hope! (Note: only Popeye can get away with smoking hookah while also smoking a pipe at the same time!)

5. Gomez (The Addams Family)

Gomez gets a pass on using a double hose hookah. They have more bizarre things going on in their home! 

4. Hookah Salesman (Aladdin)

This guy doesn't just sell you a hookah, he sells you the combination hookah and coffee maker! KM better step their game up!

3. Illidan (World of Warcraft)

Ruling over Outland can be stressful. Luckily Illidan Stormrage has found a way to calm his nerves with some good old fashioned hookah! While he's never been outright spotted taking a puff, his enormous hookah collection can be seen spotted inside his residence of The Black Temple. 

2. Jabba the Hutt (Star Wars: Episode VI)

In one of the most iconic scenes of hookah smoking in cinema history, Jabba can be seen taking a drag from his stylish orb hookah. We are not sure what flavor he is smoking, but it may not be shisha based on how red his eyes are!

1. Caterpillar (Alice in Wonderland)

You just knew this would be #1. No other fictional character has been so closely linked to hookah as The Caterpillar from Alice in Wonderland. Blowing intricate O's and never letting go of the pipe, there is simply no discussion for who deserves the top spot in this list!
